PROS:

CONS:
Durability - after 40 days of use, the volume control stopped working properly. I can only turn the volume up on my AV system now, regardless of whether I am hitting volume up or volume down. I have reprogrammed several times, and cannot get the remote to function properly.
Of course this happened 10 days after the return window expired and as far as I can tell there is no warranty. For $40+ I would expect a remote to function for more than a month. Our TiVo remote that came with the box only lasted 6 months before it died altogether (and yes, I did replace the batteries). Two broken remotes in 7 1/2 months is unacceptable. All of my SONY remotes are still perfectly functional years later. Good thing because now I need to use them to control the volume!
Wouldn't recommend this remote given that several other people have the EXACT same issue that I am having with the volume control. I wish there was a way to make someone replace this defective product! |

We purchased this remote because our old TiVo remote did not recognize our new tv, and having 2 remotes was not something we wanted. I set it up pretty easily, but I noticed that when I tried to turn the volume up it went down! So I remembered I read some reviews about this problem and decided to try something different. I went back and tried other codes for my Samsung tv, and finally (I believe it was the 4th one) worked fine. My husband mentioned to me that the other day he tried to turn the volume down and it went up. Apparently it hasn't happened more than once because he hasn't complained about that again. I really don't use this tv (remote) much, but I haven't had any problems so far. If anything else comes up, I will update my review.
p.s. love the color white, it's easy to find when my kids leave it on the big black sectional...or under it!!! |

| We bought this one to use in our bedroom to watch tv in the dark. It works as promised. It does feel more sturdy than the original remote. The button layout is also a little different, but it is easy to adjust to this. So far, I am happy with this product and have no complaints. |
