Save Valuable Time
Ripping 100s of CDs on a home computer can take weeks, even months. Most people do not have the time, patience, or technical knowledge to suffer through such a long, tediuous endeavor. Riptopia processes thousands of CDs a day. This amazing capacity was designed for both speed and accuracy and is unparalleled in the digital music industry. Now you have access to the same professional processing used by record labels, radio stations, and online music sites. You only need to digitize your CD collection once, so do it right. Plus, Riptopia is available in three different service levels: 50 CDs, 100 CDs, and 200 CDs.

Ensure Superior Sound Quality
Riptopia ensures that your new music sounds fantastic by digitizing to higher technical standards then digital music sold online. Riptopia's Nirvana processing system was optimized for used CD collections. Created by experts in the scientific and academic fields, the Nirvana system can resurrect CDs that appear to be unplayable, turning forgotten music into rediscovered gems.

Provide Vital Album Information

Digital players allow a specific song or artist to be found in an instant--provided the album information embedded in the digital song is correct and consistant. Riptopia's CleanTag process embeds accurate music information, including vibrant album art, into the music files to simplify these searches. The process starts with a database of 70 million unique songs in 80 different languages from our partners Gracenote and Muze (The same data partners as Apple Music Store). CleanTag then combines a verification system and a team of musicologists to check the album data for accuracy and completeness. The result is easily searchable music that is accurate--important for rock and pop but critical for classical and jazz.

Back Up Your Digital Music
Riptopia delivers your new digital music library on high density data DVDs. Each DVD can hold up to 100 of your CDs. After uploading your music onto your computer, iPod, phone, or music server, the DVDs can be stored in case your digital player is misplaced or your hard drive crashes. Having the piece of mind that your digital collection is protected is a key reason for having Riptopia's professional service create your digital music archive.

Riptopia........Great Value2009-01-284 / 5
I purchased the 200 CD Riptopia package from . A very sturdy box, with spindled plastic cases to hold the cd's and padding for the cases was also shipped. A prepaid label with instructions also was in the box. After pulling my cd's from all over the house, I realized I had 875 cd's I wanted ripped. I called Riptopia direct with the toll-free phone number that was included in the box. They sent me a bigger box with spindles, etc, for all of these cd's. They told me that the existing prepaid shipping label would work. They also had a couple of other services that was not mentioned in the listing. For $20 each, you could send your Ipod in, and they would load all of your songs for you. This would save you loading them yourself from the hi-density dvd's that they send back to you. Another service is they will sell you a pre-loaded with your songs, Ipod to you. I sent with my cd's 2 Ipods and bought one new classic 120gb Ipod. The price was about the same as you would pay elsewhere. Maybe a little bit more than

It took about 3 weeks to get my stuff back. UPS sent my package to some distant site, where it stayed in a warehouse for a week. This was no fault of Riptopia, as my UPS tracking showed what happened. By the way, Riptoia includes insurance with the prepaid label.

Everything came back in a very padded box. I was a little disappointed to find my cd's were not sent back in the nice padded spindle cases. They were sent back in shrink wrap, but very protected with foam padding. They sent 14 hi-density dvd's holding the music, and 3 Ipods all loaded with 10,413 songs each with the Coverflow art included on the Ipod. I was very happy with all that music ready to play , right out of the box.

Why only a 4 star rating? 3 reasons. First-a couple of the cd's didn't get totalling loaded on the Ipod and wasn't on the hi-density dvd also. Several songs on a Carole King and a Moody Blues album were incomplete. I haven't made the time to call them about this, but I will. Second- some of the Coverflow art didn't show on some of the albums. a gray generic cover shows instead. I was pleased that some really obscure compilation album's Coverflow art did get loaded. Third-On some compilation albums, the individual artist is not named. Instead, various artist is listed as the artist.

Overall, I am really satisfied with this service. They saved me many hours, that I used for other things than ripping cd's. I wished thry did record albums. I have recently gone on a cd buying spree, so I will be
buying another package. And one last thing, has lowered the price on the Riptopia service from when I purchased it.

UPDATE!!!!
Since writing this review, I contacted Riptopia by phone. I asked about the 3 areas I was disappointed in. First-the missing songs. On each dvd they have a file listing problems with individual cd's. Like a scratched cd will not allow the cd to be copied properly. Second -missing Coverflow art on some cd's. Riptopia has a premium service that will find the missing art, which involves a manual approach to get this art. Again most of the Coverflow art showed. Third-missing names of artists on compilation albums. Their premium aervice will find those names.

Hope this helps.
True Waste of Money2008-07-211 / 5
Okay, so this product is to have your CD's ripped for you, rather than doing it yourself. I can see how this would be useful for those who do not understand the process, but to be honest if you do not understand the process then you are better off not owning an mp3 player. You need to learn the skills for the devices you want to operate.

Now they claim it takes about 7mins to rip a CD. This was true about two or three years ago, but right now a decent modern computer can rip a CD in 3mins easy. You get a SATA CD Drive and life is good.

There are those who talk about their huge CD collection, and how it would take forever to rip it and so on. My CD collection is well over 300 CDs right now, and every one of them is ripped into my computer. Whenever I buy a new CD I immediately rip it, considering I don't really even own a CD player anymore, just my MP3 players (I think I still have a boombox with a CD player). So what if it takes a bit of time to rip the whole collection, I just start it going and watch some TV or read a book, and change out CDs as needed. The modern MP3 ripping software automatically looks up all the album info (sometimes you have to double check it, but not often) and toss in album art and all that crap.

Basically, this service is charging you 99 cents per CD to do something that you can do just fine on your own. Why spend money for this? Heck, you are looking at a time frame of probably two weeks easy to get the CDs copied, rather than just doing it yourself in a day.
Stupidest Thing Ever2008-01-311 / 5
This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of.

It takes (using a fairly up-to-date computer) about 3 minutes to rip a CD to a computer. The programs are free (Windows Media Player/iTunes) and no-brainers to use.

I can't believe annoyed me with this advertisement, assuming I'm too stupid to know how to rip CDs or that I "want to save time". People do what they want to do - find the time to rip your CDs to the computer. If you "can't find the time" then you're obviously not very interested.

No way in hell I'm going to pay someone 200 dollars to rip 200 of MY CDs that I have to ship myself and risk losing/damaging because of someone else's mistake.

Anyone who uses this service is a fool and deserves to get taken for everything they give these people.
service makes sense to me2008-01-315 / 5
If you have hundreds of CDs then ripping them at home will take multiple hundreds of minutes. The reviewer who said this didn't make sense obviously has not amassed much of a collection.

This service is for 200 CDs, you think I want to sit in front of a computer for 200 x 7 minutes? That's over 23 hours straight. I'd pay someone do that for me.

Not all of us are penny pinching scousers.

Are you mental?2008-01-301 / 5
Why on earth would you pay somebody hundreds of dollars to rip your CD's for you? It takes minutes per CD and using CDDB you don't even have to enter the text yourself!

It is possibly the worst idea ever and if you waste money on this, frankly, you have been deservedly robbed.

I am annoyed that even sent me an email telling me about this fantastic product, and it has wound me up so much I have had to write a review of it.
