| | I would have given the product a higher review except that I had to throw away the first screen because the tab that's attached to be used to place the protector would only finally come off after leaving so much glue residue on the protector that it was useless. The second one worked very well. |
| Great product if you read the directions | 2010-03-05 | 5 / 5 |
| | Thank you to the above reviewer, Michael Horniak, and his review entitled "Excellent protector, Apply Carefully." Because of his directions, I was able to put on the screen protector with no problems at all. I did get it a tiny bit crooked, but it doesn't really matter because it only shows on the very corner of the iTouch. |
| High quality but tricky to apply | 2010-02-25 | 4 / 5 |
| Let me say first that I think this is a five star product. I gave it four stars because I felt the instructions could have been a bit better. The lowdown:
Things I like:
+ Three protectors come in the package and each one is in it's own protective plastic sleeve. The ones you don't use are thus protected until you need them.
+ The packaging is simple, sleek, and recyclable: It's just a small pocket envelope. Nothing grinds me more than purchasing some tiny accessory that is over-packaged and non recyclable.
+ The protector itself is excellent and after extensive use shows little wear or scratches.
+ Absolute transferability of touch. There is no interference of the protector between your touch and the screen control.
+ The kit comes with a small, reusable cloth for cleaning the screen prior to application of the protector. It works great on the protector itself, though, and I keep it with the ipod.
Nitpicks:
- I had a hard time with the instructions. (OK, I admit potential operator error on this one) When it tells you to peel off only a bit with tab 1, it tells you to position the protector at the top of the screen... but the tab is on the end with the notch for the home key- isn't that the bottom? Could have used more descriptive language or pictograms, in my opinion, but the instructions are printed on the packaging itself, obviating the need for more paper and I like that. So for me, it's a wash.
- The screen surface has to be absolutely clean - I mean super-clean. This probably applies to any screen protector. If even the tiniest dust mote lands on the screen as you are applying the protector, you get a nice little bubble around the mote that is impossible to press out with the included smoothing card- or any other card for that matter. The protector is pristine on the screen side, so if you attempt to remove the mote once it is stuck there, you end up making matters worse. So... be CAREFUL and get down there and inspect that screen before laying on your protector!
So, my experience was that between the instructions and the need for clean-room conditions, my protector has two teeny bubbles that I'm just living with. I've made friends with them so I don't hold it against the product. For me, basically, one out of the three protectors that come in the package is really just a test run. The second one I put on my wife's ipod went on flawlessly. And that's a good thing, as I've a higher tolerance for lint-on-the-screen than she does.
When I need more screen protectors, I'll buy these again. |

| | Like any other overlay, you must apply this carefully to get a good bond. Once done, it works great. I bought this after purchasing a cheaper version at Walmart. Big mistake. That package went back for a refund. Luckily I did try to bond that one to my new iPod. Tis one however is recommended. |
| great way to protect screen! | 2010-02-17 | 5 / 5 |
| | This was not that hard to put on, and It is perfect to protect the screen. I love it! |
